Value engineering (VE) is a systematic method to improve the value of goods, products, and services. Value, as defined, is the ratio of function to cost. Therefore, the value of something can be manipulated by either improving the function or reducing the cost.
Our used and refurbished equipment can benefit a company undergoing a value engineering (VE) exercise on a project. While conducting VE, it can be difficult to maintain the outcome or end result. One way to accomplish this is to substitute a new machine for used or refurbished machinery. Doing so greatly decreases costs, thus improving the value.
Here’s an example: Recently, a customer had a project requiring a dust collector and had pricing to purchase a new system. Management requested a VE exercise to reduce project cost. They found that they could get the same end result (while maintaining their outcome) by considering a used dust collection option. Upon research, they received a quote for a refurbished system from AM Industrial. Choosing the refurbished system that AM Industrial offered on this project contributed over $200,000 in savings to their VE target budget!
Used and reconditioned systems save your company money that is difficult to save any other way. Read more testimonials or contact AM Industrial to request a quote and learn how we can help your company benefit from value engineering.
